Biography

As a young boy, I was drawn to the visual arts, inspired by watching my father apply his artistic skills to his oil paintings, pencil drawings, sculptures and other forms of expression. But for me it was the art of photography that captured my imagination. Magazines such as Life, Look, The Saturday Evening Post, and The National Geographic gave me an avenue to explore a world that seemed to be beyond my grasp. I was fascinated with the images that the photo-artists and photojournalists presented each month, transporting me to lands and events that fascinated me. Places in the world experiencing conflict and moments of tranquility, beauty and ugliness, complexity and yet simplicity, humanity and nature in vibrant colors and sometimes in stark black and white. It was this life in general that gave me a curiosity that I wanted to pursue on my own.

Over the years I have studied photography to enhance my technical skills, equipped myself with excellent photographic tools, had images published, been rewarded with recognition from peers, developed portfolios, experimented with hand-coloring black and white images, and worked on color Polaroid transfers. Besides the traditional equipment --35mm to large format-- I am working with digital image capture.

My work is divided between fine art photography, in black and white and color, product/commercial photography, and portraits/weddings. I enjoy both studio and location photography.

Included in my gallery are portfolios and samples of my work. Please take a few minutes to review them and share them with others. My rates are very competitive and I am easy to work with on your assignment. I shoot each assignment thoroughly, from a variety of angles and perspectives, which provides you or your client plenty of choices. Please contact me about your future photographic needs and projects. (Images depicted on the website are for sale.)
